The soundtrack of the evening

DJ Clarice is a DJ based in Berlin who has been playing since 1999 – at corporate events, galas, film premieres, weddings and private parties in Berlin, across Germany and internationally.

Soul or chanson, hip hop or new jazz, pop or dance – the label matters far less than the moment. When Clarice takes charge of the dancefloor, she folds classics into current tracks, plays with unexpected references and lets irresistible grooves move through the room until everyone is dancing. She doesn't just find the right song for every moment; she finds the right moment for every song.

Twenty-five years, a record collection, and never the same set twice

It started with her parents' records. Music has meant life and love to Clarice for as long as she can remember, and her own vinyl collection is still the foundation of a repertoire that runs from French chansons and Italian pop classics through blues, soul, funk, 80s and 90s classics and film scores to today's hits.

Every set is built from scratch. Clarice prepares meticulously for the occasion, the room and the people in it – which is why, by the end of the night, the music seems to have read the room all along.

Solo, as a duo, or with live vocals

Bader & Bernhard, Siri Svegler, Katha Grischkowski, Tiina Tuomi, Elena Fatunz, Nasri & Clarice, & THE ROYALS

Clarice plays alone behind the decks – or in company. As Bader & Bernhard she has been performing with her DJ partner Eva Be since the early 2000s, including at Quentin Tarantino's film premiere parties. For more presence on stage, she combines her DJ set with live musicians: with singer Siri Svegler, with Katha Grischkowski, as Nasri & Clarice, or with the ensemble & THE ROYALS. Pure DJ set or DJ plus live act – the format follows the evening, not the other way round.

Yakutia, Hokkaido, Mongolia

Clarice is part of an international network of musicians, and in recent years that has turned into travel: to Yakutia, to Japan for the 10th International Jew’s Harp Festival in Akan on Hokkaido, and most recently to Mongolia. She played in each place — usually an electronic set, with local musicians improvising over it.

What comes out of that cannot be rehearsed. Two musical worlds that had never met find a common pulse in the same room. For Clarice, intercultural exchange is not one theme among many; it is the theme — bringing people together, on as many levels as possible.

Nowhere is that clearer than at weddings. For years now she has played almost exclusively intercultural ones — Turkish and German, Brazilian and Italian, Spanish and American, Puerto Rican and French — in Berlin, across Germany and internationally. When she doesn’t yet know one of the two musical cultures, she spends weeks learning it, until she knows which song brings which generation onto the dance floor. The rest is the same job as always: read the room, and play the right thing at the right moment.

From the Berlinale to a birthday party

Clients who have benefited from her refined taste and confident style include Dolce & Gabbana, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Netflix, Prime Video, Universal, McKinsey and the Goethe-Institut, alongside Berlin institutions such as the Berlinale, Soho House, the Ritz-Carlton, the Waldorf Astoria and the Pan Am Lounge.

The big names in the portfolio have never stopped her from scoring private celebrations. She elevates parties at Berlin venues like Kesselhaus and Bar Tausend just as readily as she brings a corporate event to life with a tailor-made soundtrack. Milestone birthdays, anniversaries, summer parties: discretion is part of the craft, which is why the private client list isn’t published here.

Music concepts and playlists for brands

Beyond unforgettable evenings, Clarice develops music concepts for companies and builds playlists that fit a brand – for stores, lounges, showrooms and event series. The principle is the same: no catalogue sound, but a sonic identity that holds.
